SADC People’s Summit
The Human Rights Symposium on Democracy, Human Rights, and Governance in Southern Africa, held in Harare from August 15 to 16, 2024, brought together civil society organizations, human rights defenders, and advocates from across the SADC region. As the lead convenor, ZimRights played a crucial role in facilitating these important discussions, emphasizing the protection of civic space, the promotion of human rights, and the strengthening of democratic institutions. The symposium addressed the challenges facing the region, including disenfranchisement, poor service delivery, and the marginalization of vulnerable communities.
