ZimRights Input to the Working Group on Discrimination Against Women and Girls

The Zimbabwe Human Rights Association (ZimRights) welcomes the visit of the United Nations Working Group on Discrimination Against Women and Girls and is pleased to submit its input highlighting the lived realities of women and girls in Zimbabwe. This submission draws on insights from consultations, community engagements, and documentation gathered through women’s forums held in Sanyati, Hopley, Buhera, Mutasa, and Lupane Districts, in addition to other community engagement initiatives conducted across the ten provinces of Zimbabwe in which ZimRights works. These platforms allowed women and girls to speak candidly about the discrimination, exclusion, and rights violations they experience in both private and public life.
