The Zimbabwe Human Rights Association (ZimRights) is excited to announce the appointment of two technical experts to its Management Committee with effect from 3 June 2021. The two experts are Ms. Nosimilio Chanaiwa and Mr. Jade Takudzwa Tsokodai. The appointment of the two experts is part of the ZimRights Transition Strategy that was adopted by the ZimRights National Council on 12 June 2020, allowing the Management Committee to incorporate relevant expertise necessary to enable it to effectively play its role.
Ms. Chanaiwa and Mr. Tsokodai will play the roles of legal advisor and financial advisor respectively in support of the work of ZimRights.
Ms. Nosimilo Chanaiwa – Legal Advisor
Ms. Nosimilo Chanaiwa is a human rights lawyer, who currently works for Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights. She is passionate about social justice and development with at least 10 years’ experience in human rights litigation. She has contributed to the human rights discourse in Zimbabwe through representing human rights defenders and continues to use the law to defend human rights as enshrined in the Constitution. Nosimilo has also contributed to fostering a culture of human rights through research, writing papers, public education, lobby and advocacy. Nosimilo holds a Bachelor of Law Degree and a Master’s Degree in Development Studies.
Mr. Jade Tsokodai – Financial Advisor
Mr. Jade Tsokodai is an entrepreneurial Chartered Accountant with over 10 years of experience in advisory, financial reporting and external auditing in the financial services sector as well as in other sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, energy, construction and non-governmental organisations (NGOs). Passionate about social entrepreneurship, Jade has supported several non-profits including the Zimbabwe Catholic Bishops Conference (ZCBC) and the Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation (CSVR). Currently, Tsokodai is the Chief Finance Officer of ZB Life Assurance Limited. He trained with Deloitte where he worked with a number of financial institutions in Africa and abroad. He holds a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from IE Business School in Spain. In addition, he holds a Master’s in Development Finance from the University of Cape Town Graduate School Of Business.
